Tires are where safety meets the road
Your tires are the only part of your car that actually touches the road. They affect braking distance, wet-weather grip, handling, ride comfort and fuel economy. Good tires, properly inflated and rotated, do more for everyday safety than almost anything else on your car.
Choosing the right tire
There’s no single “best” tire. The right choice depends on your vehicle, how far you drive, and what matters most to you: longevity, a quiet ride, wet grip or price. We’ll give you a few honest options at different price points and explain the trade-offs in plain English. No pressure toward the most expensive set.
Rotation and balancing
Front and rear tires wear differently. Rotating them every 5,000–7,500 miles evens out wear and can add thousands of miles to a set. Balancing corrects small weight differences so the tire spins smoothly; an out-of-balance tire is a common cause of steering-wheel vibration at highway speed.
Uneven wear? Let’s find out why
If one edge of a tire is wearing faster, or the tread is cupped, something is causing it. Usually it’s alignment, worn suspension parts or incorrect pressure. We’ll photograph the wear pattern and explain the likely cause, so your new tires don’t wear out the same way. See wheel alignment and suspension repair.

“They treat you as family.”
Camacho’s is by far the best auto shop I have been to in NC. Customer service is impeccable! I have had one too many last minute instances and they have always squeezed me in… They do not see you as a quick buck and will always give you choices from the most economical and priority to everything needed for your car overall. Top tier, they treat you as family.
“They did not try to sell me anything extra that I didn't need.”
HIGHLY recommend!! … I arrived at 8:40 am and my oil change was complete and I was on my way by 9:10 am. Very professional staff and fair prices… they did not try to sell me anything extra that I didn't need. This is now my go-to spot for any car repair needs.
“Really great service and friendly people.”
Carlos was so attentive right upon me pulling up as I was so confused what was wrong with my car and they got me in promptly and fixed my issue right away! This was not my first time as I previously had my brakes repaired here and the service was also amazing… Really great service and friendly people.
Tires & Rotation questions
How often should I rotate my tires?
Most manufacturers recommend every 5,000–7,500 miles. Many drivers do it with every oil change, which makes it easy to remember.
When do I need new tires?
North Carolina's legal minimum is 2/32" of tread, but wet-road grip drops off well before that. We measure your tread and show you photos, so you can plan ahead instead of being surprised.
Do I need to replace all four tires at once?
Not always. On many cars, two at a time is fine. All-wheel-drive vehicles often need all four replaced together, or tread depths matched closely, to protect the drivetrain. We'll tell you what your car needs.
Do I need an alignment with new tires?
It's a smart idea. An alignment makes sure your new tires wear evenly from day one.
