Transmission Service questions
Do I need to change my transmission fluid?
Yes, even if your manual says "lifetime" fluid. Heat breaks fluid down over time. Many shops and transmission builders recommend service somewhere between 30,000 and 60,000 miles, depending on the vehicle and how it's driven. We'll check yours and recommend based on its condition.
Can a fluid change damage an old transmission?
It's a common worry. On a healthy transmission, fresh fluid of the correct type helps. On a transmission that's already slipping, a fluid service won't fix internal wear. We'll be honest about which situation you're in.
Do you work on CVTs?
Yes. CVTs (common in Nissan, Subaru, Honda and Toyota models) are especially sensitive to fluid condition and the exact fluid type. We service and diagnose them regularly.
