  • Steam from under the hood
  • Sweet smell, or green, orange or pink puddles under the car
  • Coolant reservoir keeps getting low
  • Heater blows cold air
  • Low coolant warning light

What’s included

  • Cooling system pressure test
  • Radiator, hose and water pump inspection
  • Thermostat and cooling fan operation check
  • Coolant condition and freeze-protection test
  • Leak location with photos
  • Coolant service with the correct type for your vehicle

Keeping your engine cool

Your cooling system circulates coolant through the engine and radiator to carry heat away. The main parts are the radiator, water pump, thermostat, hoses, cooling fans and reservoir. When any of them fails, the engine can overheat quickly.

Finding the leak, not just topping it off

If you’re adding coolant regularly, it’s going somewhere. We pressure-test the system to find leaks, including small ones that only appear when the engine is hot, and show you exactly where they are with photos. Common culprits are cracked radiator tanks, worn hoses, leaking water pumps and failed thermostat housings.

Common cooling system repairs

  • Radiator replacement
  • Water pump replacement (often done with a timing belt on engines where the belt drives the pump)
  • Thermostat and housing replacement
  • Hose and clamp replacement
  • Cooling fan and fan relay repair
  • Coolant flush with the manufacturer-specified coolant

If your temperature gauge is creeping up, don’t wait. Book a cooling system check and we’ll find out why.

“Really great service and friendly people.”

Carlos was so attentive right upon me pulling up as I was so confused what was wrong with my car and they got me in promptly and fixed my issue right away! This was not my first time as I previously had my brakes repaired here and the service was also amazing… Really great service and friendly people.

Cooling System & Radiator questions

What should I do if my car is overheating?

Turn off the A/C and turn the heater on full to pull heat away from the engine, then pull over safely and shut the engine off. Don't open the radiator cap while it's hot. Driving while overheating can warp the cylinder head or blow a head gasket.

How often should coolant be changed?

It varies widely. Some vehicles call for it every 30,000 miles, many modern long-life coolants last 100,000 miles or more. Check your owner's manual, or we'll test the coolant's condition for you.

Can I just top off with water?

In an emergency, yes, to get somewhere safe. But water doesn't protect against freezing, boiling or corrosion, so have the system checked and refilled with the correct coolant soon.
